Reunion 2003

Day 2 - Epworth

On Thursday we drove north from London to Epworth arriving in Epworth around 4:00 PM in the afternoon. We spent our first hour there driving and walking around to get a feel for the town checking out the Cross Monument in the town square, Bramhill Yard and of course the Wesley Memorial Church where we would be holding the reunion.

While in Epworth we stayed at the Wisteria Bed & Breakfast operated by Alison and Paul Tinsley. They themed their rooms after the Wesleys with rooms named after John, Charles and Susannah.

Betty (nee Bramhill) and Ross Franklin joined us at the Wisteria B&B during the reunion. The six of us represented the Canadian and American Bramhill branches of the family.

On Friday evening we went over to the Church Hall, only a 3-minute walk from Wisteria, to set up the hall and displays Peter had prepared.

During the evening we had a few cousins drop by to say hello and get to know us better. They came back the next day for the main event.

With the preparations done, we went out for supper in a restaurant. Two local diners overheard our conversation and spoke to us about the reunion. It turns out that they were local Bramhills from Boltgate Farm just a few miles north of Epworth. They had heard about the reunion but harvest would prevent them from attending. It was great to meet them there and we got together with them the next evening after the Reunion.
